Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Delaware (Feb 2012). Clinical Experience: Preceptorship in the labor and delivery unit at Christiana Hospital. Performed all assessments, medication administration, vitals and charting, amongst other duties working with assigned patients. Quick and precise decision making while reporting patient needs to the correct people. (Jan 2011) Study abroad in South Africa. University of Delaware. Five weeks of volunteering in public and private hospitals and orphanages. Focus was primarily with labor and delivery, pre op and post op care. (Winter 2011) Student nurse shadowing RN. Phoenix Baptist Hospital. Watched and helped the nurse perform day to day tasks as an RN. Including computer charting, interacting with family members, giving medications, stabilization, ADLs and primarily comfort and daily care that was needed. Student Nurse Externship: Christiana Care Health System. Responsible for 10-20 patients with another hospital technician. Performed tasks such as the ones mentioned Read more above in addition to calculating input and output. Charting all care provided. (Summer 2011) I believe I have a lot of experience with different types of jobs. All involving people from infants to adults and client care. I have years of babysitting/nanny experience as it was my first job when I was younger. I enjoy working with children or caring for infants and the experience I have obtained from my four years in nursing school has given me even more tools and experience to be a good fit. A quality that I value in myself is my commitment and passion towards my job and what I am doing. While in nursing school I studied abroad in South Africa for 5 weeks and delivered babies. It was the most amazing experience. I am willing to learn anything new, am reliable and I believe patience and compassion is important in any job atmosphere.
