Hello! My name is Ty Clemans; I recently moved to Jacksonville with my wife Melissa, my son Kobi (2.5 years old) and daughter Charli (2 months old). I have most recently been in Law Enforcement for 5.5 years - safety and security is absolutely priority number one. Now that my family and I have moved, I seek a different career path that I originally wanted to go into, but was discouraged from pursuing because I’m a male: Childcare. Growing up, I was always the “go to” for neighborhood babysitting. I have always had an affinity for kids, and they recognize that I understand and love them all on their own. Now that I have 2 children of my own, my priorities have shifted from wanting to catch “bad guys” on the street to nurturing and keeping children safe. As far as skills, I am very fluid in newborn and toddler Read more care. After all, my kids are currently those ages. This includes: changing diapers, preparing and serving meals, childproofing, playing, and teaching where appropriate. Working for the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, we would get re-certified in CPR once a year to keep our knowledge and skills fresh (my most recent certification was this past winter). I am also very aware of surroundings, people that are out of place, potentials dangers/threats, and constantly go over “what if” scenarios in my head. Like I said earlier, safety and security! I understand being a male nanny can be unusual. Rest assured, I will put all doubts and concerns aside after we meet. I look forward to meeting you and your kids soon!
