Hello there! I'm Jordan, and I've spent a significant part of my life exploring my passion for nurturing the healthy development of children. While my journey hasn't followed a traditional path, it's been rich with experiences that have shaped my love for childcare. Experience and Background: My formal childcare experience includes working as a preschool teacher at UF’s Baby Gator Child Development and Research Center, where I had the opportunity to care for, teach and guide children aged 2 to 3. I also worked as a floating teacher at Baby Gator, where I interacted with kids ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Beyond this, I've been involved in youth ministries, serving as a Youth Ministries Director and a Volunteer Coordinator, and I'm currently a Family Liaison at a high school in Alachua, Florida. Passion and Specialization: Throughout my diverse experiences, I've discovered my true calling lies in supporting Read more children under the age of 12. While I cherish the relationships I’ve cultivated with older kids, I find immense fulfillment in nurturing young minds during their crucial early developmental stages. Education and Training: I hold a Bachelor's degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida. I am also CPR and first aid certified for both infants and adults. The next stage for my professional development is to take courses at the Jai Institute for Parenting to become a certified Parent Coach. This program emphasizes the importance of parent-child connections and communication. Strengths and Passion: My unique journey has equipped me with a diverse skill set, including strong interpersonal communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, patience, and empathy. My primary motivation is to help parents and their children build strong, trusting relationships through effective communication and emotional regulation. Why I want to become a full-time Nanny: I believe that working as a nanny would provide me with an opportunity to practice my growing knowledge of Attachment Science and co-regulation strategies in support of young children and their parents. Since I am not a parent yet myself, I also believe being engaged in full-time childcare would give me a better understanding of what parents experience on a daily basis. Thank you for considering me as a potential nanny. I'm looking forward to learning how I can best support you and your family.
