Hi, I'm Sherry. I'm retired from teaching Early Childhood Special Education, both pull out and in regular education classrooms. I have also done pull out through 8th grade. I'm certified in Missouri birth-K and grades 1-8. (The form made me put my teaching experience under Nanny experience; I apologize for any confusion.) I also raised three children, including twins. I now have two grandchildren, ages 5 and 3, which has helped me stay updated on the most recent developments in interacting with children. There are things to love about every age. I love infants! Babies are so special, and I find I never get frustrated with them. Toddlers and preschoolers come in a close second. I especially love to see young children's language development, and their cognitive abilities as they learn to use language to interact with their environment. I would never yell at your child--redirecting, talking about big feelings, Read more and/or modeling work wonders. I didn't mark the First Aid and CPR boxes because mine are currently expired. I could certainly recertify. I can go up and down and crawl and play at the playground and chase kids as needed. I am not a smoker. While I've been lucky not to have had any horrific emergencies involving kids, years of handling three kids and years of handling small groups and entire classrooms have required me to handle many small emergencies and issues on a daily basis.
