As the oldest of three kids and being ten and thirteen years older than my siblings, I have spent a copious amount of time with kids as an unpaid, built-in babysitter. When I was old enough, I began to seek out jobs where I could continue to work with children, namely as a counselor at summer camps. There, I met families I could babysit for (and actually get paid!). I really like to work with a family over an extended period of time, that way, as I did with those families, the family and I can bond so that the kid(s) can get used to having me around and the parents can be comfortable leaving their children with me and have some peace of mind.
