Hi, I'm Alex! I'm a 27 y/o female residing in Monroe, CT. I have my BA in Psychology and started my masters degree in social work at Fordham University, however I'm currently taking a pause on school and intend to go back and complete my degree in the near future. For the past 3 years, I've worked as a Mental Health Counselor for children, adolescents, and teens (ages 4-18) with psychiatric/mental health disorders, developmental and learning disabilities, and other behavioral difficulties, as well as their parents/families to assist them in caring for and supporting their child. I was responsible for providing direct psychotherapeutic services as well as case management and care coordination, to connect them with other medical providers and community supports. Prior to working as a Mental Health Counselor and while I was in college, I worked as an ABA Therapist for children with Autism (ages 6-10) for over Read more a year and also worked as a caregiver for a 3 y/o child with special needs. Aside from my years of experience working professionally with children and teens, I also have a few years of babysitting experience. From February-March of this year, I was a live-in babysitter/nanny for a family with 3 young children as a temporary position. I was responsible for getting all 3 kids up in the morning, making them breakfast and preparing/packing their lunches, getting them dressed and ready for school, getting them on and off the bus, making them dinner, bathing them and assisting with hygiene, etc. Additionally, I babysat for several different families with children aged 6 months- 12 y/o throughout high school and my first year or so of college. Typically, I would set up and create games to play with the child(ren), we would spend time outdoors and get some exercise, go to the mall or other child-friendly places nearby, get their homework done, etc. I pride myself in my experience and trustworthiness when it comes to child care. I am willing to provide additional services as needed/requested including meal prep/cooking, homework help, help around the home (laundry, cleaning, etc.), changing and feeding, bathing, etc. I am comfortable caring for kids of all ages (0-18 y/o) and the amount of kids I am comfortable caring for at a time just depends on the situation.
