I am a professional childcare provider with an Elementary Education degree who truly enjoys the company of children and loves pets! I don’t know that I have a favorite age, and as a K-12 Jeffco educator, I’ve enjoyed all ages at one time or another. As I write this, I’m thinking that there’s no greater joy in life than holding a baby! Infant care does not scare me, rather I welcome it with open arms… literally! Most of my childcare/teaching experience is with small children, ages 0-6 years old. My style tends toward daily schedule of events starting at a very young age… even 6 months. I always include a little “circle” time, play time, activity, and of course manage the needs of the day. I enjoy daily walks, outings, and just about every activity with children… Board games, educational games, crafty/creative activities, building things… I also feel it’s important Read more to give a child time to decompress and ponder the events of the day so they may extract the “take away” from those events. What I like best about working with children being privy to their unique perspectives… the purity with which they view the world. They can be frank, but it’s innocent and in most cases their observations are very astute. When teaching, I always enjoy the lunch time chat; “My mommy’s name is Allison and my daddy’s name is Kelly… what’s your mommy’s name?” lol While I’m offering temporary services, I’m open to a permanent childcare situation under the right circumstances and am a weekend getaway SPECIALIST should parents feel the need to take a moment for themselves.
