I am an experienced nanny with a degree in education, three years experience as a parenting coach, and four years experience as a nanny. I am a Purdue University graduate who began my career as an educator. This experience helped me see the impact of a child’s home life on their ability to learn and achieve. A passion to address the issues I saw led me to my next pursuit as a parenting coach for child protective services. This fostered a passion for ensuring the safety and healthy development of all children. During the pandemic, I shifted to nannying where I worked for a wonderful family with two children ages 5 and 8. I remained with them until the children returned to in-person schooling. I then transitioned to my next experience with nannying, which has been a long term contract in a nanny share for two infants, aged 2.5 months Read more and 6 months at time of hire. Throughout our time, I have expanded upon my knowledge of positive discipline and gentle parenting strategies and gained experience with baby-led weaning, toilet training and daytime sleep training. As the children have grown, I’ve focused on encouraging confidence, autonomy and self-esteem. Both children have demonstrated remarkable language acquisition and emotional regulation skills for their ages. When one of the families welcomed their second child, I remained with the sibling pair, taking over when the baby was 3 months old and her brother was nearly 3 years old. Balancing a toddler and a baby has been an exciting new dynamic, and I’ve enjoyed watching a loving bond form between them. With several pets of my own, I love animals and have no issue working with them in the home. I am vaccinated against Covid-19 and I also get yearly flu shots.
