I am a professional nanny/household manager with 12 years of paid experience for children ages 6-months to 5 years. I have just finished a position (4-yrs) with a wonderful family with boy/girl twins who are now in full-day kindergarten. I am therefore seeking a full-time position starting asap. My ideal position I am mature and responsible, in excellent health and physical condition and accustomed to working 40-50 hour weeks. My interests include hiking, skiing, cooking, music, and reading. I love to be outside doing almost anything really. Some favorite activities I engage in with children in my care include: going to the park, nature walks, flying kites, picnics, short hikes, swimming, and bike rides. Indoor activities: reading/going to the library/story time, Gym/various kid play places, art projects, dancing/music, cooking. Since I was a working mother, (my son is now 25) I know what working parents need in a support person. Read more As such, I can provide any level of help required from strictly childcare to household management. I am an excellent cook. I know how to do laundry properly, keep toys orderly and organized, and most importantly provide a safe, fun, happy environment for children. I'm fairly easy going in my approach to children---pick your battles/don't sweat the small stuff, and most of it is, lead by example. Small children mimic behavior good or bad, so I find that setting a good example goes a long way in achieving desirable behavior. I keep up with the latest books, theories, etc, on successful child rearing and will certainly support you (or advise if asked) on any method you employ. I have a great sense of humor and find that to be essential in dealing with children of any age! I own a safe and reliable SUV w/AWD, that I can use for transporting children/running errands if the family does not have one. My driving record is exceptional. I am well educated, and have a college degree. I am certified in adult and pediatric CPR, and first aid. I am in the process of taking classes to get my NCS certification.
