Hello, My name is Karin. I am originally from Austria but have been living in the United States since 2016. My husband and I just moved from the east coast to the beautiful LA area. I have been working in childcare (after-school programs, preschools, Infant/Toddler classrooms) for the last ten years. My last job was being a toddler teacher in a classroom with 9 adorable kids aged 2-3. I love being outdoors with the children, running around in the fresh air and help them strengthen their gross motor and social skills, but also indoor activities to nurture their fine motor, language and cognitive skills in a playful way. From my experience it's further very important that the children get some downtime; time to rest and process all experiences they make throughout the day as well as time to be creative and imaginative; especially the little ones. After graduating from College Read more of Social Pedagogics I started working as a qualified social education worker in an after-school program+preschool in Austria until 2013. This is where I gained comprehensive experience in supervising and educating a group of 25 pupils aged 6-10. After improving my teaching skills, I was additionally authorized to teach our 5-year olds, in their last year of preschool before entering elementary school. End of 2013 I further decided to improve my educational skills by starting studying “B.A. Educational Science” at Distance University in Germany, which I plan to finish in the upcoming semesters. My partner and I relocated to the UK in 2014 where I, additionally to full-time studying, worked as a floating assistant teacher with all age-groups from 6 months up to 6 years. After moving to Boston in 2016 and obtaining my work permit I started working as infant/toddler teacher at a music-based and Montessori-inspired daycare in Cambridge, MA. In Spring 2017 I enrolled in the class “Child Growth and Development” at Quincy College and additionally finished my nine-months training in order to receive my “Infant/Toddler Teacher Certification” by the Department of EEC, MA. I hold a valid First Aid & Child/Infant CPR/AED Certificate. My future goal is to obtain a Californian teacher permit, which is why I plan on enrolling into ECE college programs here in LA. But as this will take some time to finish, I still want to stay in my dream job and and keep working with children, while taking classes. This is why I would love to take this opportunity and become the nanny of your child. Thank you!
