Hello! My name is Velvet-Rose, I’m currently a college student majoring in fire technology with the purpose of becoming a firefighter. I enjoy anything regarding nature (besides the absurd weather at times!), reading, singing, researching, baking, early morning or night drives, and meeting new personalities. I enjoy the study of psychology and sociology to help me understand myself and others better. I’ve always had a passion when it comes to children and helping them grow/ develop. Which is why I’ve considered becoming a social worker before committing to my career of choice. I love being around children because of their such strong personalities and energy!! They make the world a bit brighter. I love the active imagination kids have as well as the undying curiosity they tend to have. I know children need patience, engagement, and respect at the very minimum. Your children will have that with me and more! Read more I’ve helped raise 5 of my younger siblings - cooking, cleaning, diapers, baths, taking them to school, along with keeping them entertained and out of trouble. I have experience with infants of 0 months to young teens up to 14 years old. Outside of watching my siblings, I have been a babysitter for a few of my foster family members multiple times with up to 5 children under the age of 11. For 7 months up until late August, I was helping to co-raise an infant from 7 months to a few months after his 1st birthday. Ive also volunteered at my former local elementary schools events such as, the science fair ( my role was to walk children through diy science experiments that were assigned to me), the trunk or treat event, and the nutcracker play/ Christmas celebration. I so have tutor experience when it comes to education. I’ve been a tutor for friends or random peers throughout high school, using my lunch time to help in whatever ways I’m needed. If your child needs school help, I am the perfect person for that role too. As I have helped children in kindergarten and up. With small assignments such as a reading log, to creating big posters and projects such as a diorama. I don’t have much professional background history besides my experience with my friends and family members and the occasional children at my elementary. I do however, have a history of me being reliant, valuable, responsible, compassionate, patient, attentive and adaptive when it comes to children of all ages. I’d love to meet your child(ren) and help them in any way I can!!
