I babysat for the last two years for two different families; one with six kids and another with two kids. I changed their diapers, cooked meals for them, played with them, helped them with homework, drove them to the park/after-school events/any other places needed, and did many other tasks around the house as I watched them. During my senior year, I did a lot of volunteer work with kids through Link Crew, The Boys and Girls Club, and the Heart of Jesus Retreat Center. Link Crew was a program through my high school that allowed me to conduct weekly meetings with a group of 10 freshmen students and give them mentorship, advice, and guidance throughout their first year of high school. The Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach was an after-school childcare program where I interacted with multiple children and played with them, talked to them, and helped them Read more with their homework. The Heart of Jesus Retreat Center allowed me to work alongside the Sacred Sisters and teach children about worshipping God and about Catholicism. I have also had much experience with caring for animals, especially when I went to Best Friends Animal Society in Utah for two weeks. This volunteer trip allowed me to care for abused and neglected animals by playing with, walking, feeding, and cleaning the animals. I tended to about 30 different kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, birds, reptiles, goats, horses, bunnies, and many more types. I absolutely love caring for both children and animals because I am a very nurturing person and my ultimate goal in life is to live for others and help others flourish. It is so enjoyable to care for kids and animals and it is such an important task to raise a child well and to prepare them for the world.
