I have worked as a child care provider for over ten years. During that time I have worked as a camp counselor, drama/ dance teacher, day care instructor and a swim instructor/ lifeguard. In all of these cases I was in charge of monitoring and caring for between 5 to 20 students for the better part of 6 to 8 hrs a day. My classes varied in age from 3 to 14. I have a range of skill-sets that I have developed from these positions, including first aid, CPR, AED, water rescue, multiple artistic disciplines, and general teaching skills. I am an actress and have worked extensively in Kansas City, Atlanta, and Charlottesville. I graduated from Avila University in May of 2009 with a BFA Technical Theater, BFA Acting, Dance Minor, Music Minor, and Film Minor. I completed my MFA from the University of Virginia in May 2014. I am Read more single with no children. I have a cat and a dog. My cat is a nine year old gray striped male cat named Cole. My dog is a ten year old male Pomeranian named Desi. I have a belief that children need to have diverse activities in their daily lives in order to foster well-rounded personalities. To this end, I enjoy doing activities with the children that incorporated visual arts elements (finger painting, crafts, etc.), exercise (dance, sports, general play), and the academic (reading time, homework help, educational games).

I hired Whitney when we were in San Diego for few day. She's always on time, came prepared with color papers and some games and immediately got my son comfortable with her for the first time. She is awesome. Highly recommend her

I had an emergency need for an after-school sitter because I hadn't signed my 9-year-old daughter up for the afterschool program in time. Whitney was reliable, easy to contact, and quickly developed a great relationship with my daughter. I'd recommend her heartily.
