My name is Melanie and I am 25 years old. As the daughter of an educator who specializes in special and early childhood education, I have quite a bit of experience working with children. Although I graduated with a BA in Journalism, many of my elective classes were composed of child development courses. Some of my favorite classes allowed me the opportunities to write a children's book, student teach once a week at a middle school and to assist in the execution of a nation wide anti-bullying campaign. The passion I felt while counseling youth is why I am currently transitioning into a new career path. I plan on attending graduate school within the next year where I will study couples and family therapy. I will soon be CPR and First Aid certified. I love working with children of all ages and helping with child development. I have assisted in Read more classrooms with 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds (pre-k), and school age children. I also have experience working one-on-one with children in home settings. I have a drivers license and my own means of transportation.
