I am 24 years old and live in Tempe with my cat named Bailey. Ive worked with children for 7 years now i have my Arizona DHS background finger print clearance card along with being first aid and cpr certified. For 4 of those years I studied and participated in the Reggio Emilia approach, a nature based and child lead approach to teaching young children. I believe that children are to be treated with the respect that they deserve, that they are capable of allot more than modern social standards give them credit for. I have a 2020 Toyota Corolla that I love to use it to go up north to the river along with using it to go to the hiking trails. I am passionate about tending to children's needs as if they were my own. I always tell my kids that it is ok to feel whatever they are feeling and use the talking tool of ‘ands’ instead of ‘buts’. For example if a child states they don't want to brush their teeth, instead of “I know you don't want to but you need to before you go to bed” ill instead say “i know sometimes its not fun to brush AND if you don't you may have stinky breath and thats never fun especially for your stuffies’. I play with the children ive cared for very interactively and believe that although sharing is kind they have the ability to say yes or no according to their boundaries. I believe children deserve autonomy throughout their day and that they thrive on it. Providing a child with a safe space where they feel their voice is heard and understood is top priority.
