Education: Bachelor of the Arts Degree from Prescott College (December 2017) Double Major: Adventure Education and Human Development High School Diploma from Petaluma High (May 2012) Experience: I have over 9 years of experience working with kids in academic and outdoor settings. I can provide references for any of the experience listed below upon request. I began working as an Outdoor Educator when I was 15. I worked, under a more experienced team, as an Assistant Instructor for GirlVentures, a non-profit outdoor adventure organization. While at GirlVentures I worked with over 100 adolescent girls to help them identify and express their strengths through empowerment focused curriculum. In high school I worked as a tutor in a lunch-time language program where I gained roughly 50 hours of experience as a one-on-one tutor for a peer who was slightly younger than me. During my time as a Prescott College student I began Read more working as an Outdoor Educator at Friendly Pines Camp. At Friendly Pines I team 5th and 6th grade state approved curriculum that is focused on science and math as it can be applied to natural systems of the Bradshaw Mountains in Central Arizona. I have worked with over 20 different schools and with more than 500 students through this position, and continue to gain more experience through employment at Friendly Pines. During my time as a student I also worked with over 40 youth at risk (ages 11-17) from the central Connecticut town of Berlin. Rather than teaching curriculum, I worked with these students on their communication and conflict resolution skills during outdoor adventure trips. I am currently continuing to gain experience working with kids, through employment as a nanny in Prescott, Arizona. Additional Education and Certifications: Nationally Certified Peer-Educator (2016) Wilderness First Responder (2015) Basic First Aid and CPR (2013) National Outdoor Leadership School Alumni (2012) Sierra Club Trip Leader (2012) Outward Bound Alumni (2010) GirlVentures Alumni (2008-2011)
