I grew up in a family of 8 children. As I got older, I was given the responsibility of taking care of my younger siblings when I took them to sporting events and watching them while my parents went on dates. My freshman year of college in New Jersey, I started nannying for a family near my neighborhood. I helped a first grader prepare for school daily, laying his clothes out, making breakfast, and quizing him for tests that day before walking him to the bus stop. Soon, I was asked to do this with another family in the neighborhood, and would alternate between houses or assist both boys in getting ready at one house. I also provided after school care for both families on occasion, and played outside and did homework and had reading time. I continued to do this several times a week until I earned my Associates Read more degree. When I transferred colleges and moved to North Carolina, I continued to watch children for date nights when I was able. After college, I spent several months giving full time care to a one year old and a four year old. I made food for the children, played memory and trivia games, and worked on abc's. My first year after college, I was an assistant 1st grade teacher. I especially enjoy reading and playing outside with children.
