A family near Chateau Elan GA is seeking a long-term nanny/private educator to care for their 2 children ages 6 and 11-months-old. The 6-year-old has autism with an overlap of ADHD and is sensory sensitive. The candidate will be familiar with whole-brain child strategies, and have experience educating and caring for children with autism. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-6:30pm. The family is open to live-in or live-out and will relocate the right person.
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized educational and behavioral strategies
- Engage the children in age-appropriate activities and play to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Research activities for children locally and prior to travel
- Drive children to/from activities
- Monitor children’s behavior and provide positive reinforcement and redirection as needed
- Communicate regularly with family to ensure consistency and continuity of care
Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience as a nanny/educator, governess or similar
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Pet friendly – family has a sweet, well-trained Lab
- Ability to swim – Family will provide lessons if necessary
- Must be willing to travel domestically
- Ability to speak another language and travel internationally are huge pluses but are not required
- Experience working with children who have Autism in a similar role
