Housekeeper & Household Assistant – Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented housekeeper with strong cooking skills to support our household with upkeep and organization. This role involves maintaining cleanliness, assisting with meal preparation, and handling laundry and other home-related tasks. The ideal candidate should be proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a family environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cooking & Meal Prep:

Prepare snacks/breakfast for a family of three
Meal preparation and cooking
PUtting away the meals
Cleaning the dishes and putting them away
Help with grocery handling,and managing produce (e.g., checking and discarding spoiled items like lemons), cleaning organizing the refrigerator

Housekeeping & Cleaning:

General tidying of the home and common areas
Clean dishes and kitchen surfaces
Light bathroom cleaning (including swiping floors and keeping the area fresh)
Remove trash and take out garbage as needed

Laundry & Clothing Care:

Collect laundry from multiple areas (bedrooms, bathroom, car)
Sort clothing (whites, blacks, colors) and separate clean vs. dirty items
Wash, dry, and handle clothing with appropriate care (gentle wash for delicates)
Family Support:

Assist with organizing a child’s room, including sorting and removing dirty clothes

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

Strong cooking and kitchen prep skills
Highly organized and attentive to detail
Comfortable managing multiple tasks independently
Trustworthy and dependable
Flexibility to adjust to daily household needs
A valid driver’s license is a plus but not required
