I have been working with elderly people for over 15 years and it has become a special part of my life. I grew up in a loving family and I took care of my ill great grandmother which had dementia. From that experience I knew that elderly people would be my life goal and since then I have made a tremendous difference in peoples lives. Along the way I noticed that many caregivers in facilities did not have enough of patience to provide the love and care that elderly people need. A lot of times elderly people feel alone and they give up hope because they are not provided the reassurance that everything will be okay. I decided to become a in home care worker and provide the one on one care with my clients and this would give them the time to have companionship and not feel alone. I also enjoy being creative with elderly people by introducing games and art as well as movie time. I also like giving them a choice in choosing what they like and dislike. This is a chance to really know them and to let this be a growing time with my client. I also enjoy the home like experience and meeting new people and hearing their stories and letting them share their feelings. I am over 15 years experienced working with elderly people from dementia to chronic illnesses. Catering to them is important to me and I wouldn't give this job up for the world. I am CNA Certified and I am certified in Fire Safety, Choking and Standard Precautions as well as First Aide/BLS. I am open to traveling for the family of interest.
