I was a CNA for 5 years. I am no longer licensed as I didn’t keep it active when I went into child care. I worked in rehab facilities and memory care. What I loved about this job was earning residents' trust and getting to know each person individually. They were never a “patient” to me. Each is individual with individual needs, ideas, wants, and dreams. I took time to listen and engage in conversations. Unfortunately in facilities with having a hall of 8-10 people to care for, this made it very hard to maintain relationships as the job was constant. I did in-home care for about 4 months prior and also an adult family home for over a year. I miss this job. After I went into childcare (which I do like) it was being a CNA that I realized was my passion. My body however could not continue transferring people weighing several hundred pounds on my own. This is the main reason I discontinued being a CNA. There is nothing more rewarding to me than earning the person I’m caring for trust and companionship. I am CPR trained and know basic medical terminology. I am comfortable with medication management. I would love to find a part-time position where I can begin to care for the elderly or be a companion to a nonaggressive or violent in language and actions individual. I don't mind pets. But I do mind exotic animals. I cannot be in a residence with them. Full disclosure: I am Pfizer-vaccinated with the first round. I am not willing to take any more vaccines due to the research studies I've researched. I would love the opportunity to get to know you.
