Hi, my name is Jess! I've recently decided to start looking into caregiving again. I provided in-home care for multiple adult male clients in the Mt. Vernon, WA area through RehabCo in 2016 and before that, I was a counselor at a camp for adults and teens with special needs. I left these jobs to seek higher paying jobs at the time, and the commute was too far. I enjoyed the care aspect of it, and I often think back to this time and miss the connections I made and the trust I built with my clients.

I spent the majority of the time in clients' homes, helping them with household tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry, as well as grocery shopping, exercise, fun trips out of the house, and transport to and from appointments.

I have a big heart for Autism Spectrum Disorder advocacy. The best part about the jobs I had was meeting all kinds of people and providing a calm and comforting presence in their lives. I enjoy applying my skills in order to help others, while giving them encouragement to keep working toward self-advocacy and success in life. I always try and bring a fun and light hearted approach to any work I do and I want others to feel comfortable working with me.

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, and it still affects me in my adult life. At times I appreciate it, as it provides me with a different angle of thinking and feeling. Often times I truly believe my experience living with ADHD helps me relate to other people on the spectrum, and I am thankful for that.
