Seeking W2 position.
I speak English only. I am Australian. I am available as an elder care home companion. I am adding senior care to my schedule. My main experience has been assisting my husband’s grandmother who was 75-80, I assisted her to go shopping, putting her walker in the back of my car, helped her around her home after hip operation including assisting with showering and kitchen tasks like putting away groceries, also added with getting her dressed as she had arthritis in her arms and hands and couldn’t do up buttons or pull on her pants.
I assisted her with combing her hair and setting up her crafts. Organizing books and magazines for her interest. Reading to her.

My own father is now 80 however he is in Melbourne Australia. He is fit and mobile and doesn’t require care but may do in the future. I visit him in December and May.

I recognize that senior adults are not children and require a different type of care and compassion as they have been independent adults with many years of lived experience and have a unique set of needs depending on their health conditions and living circumstances. They often have a pet who is a close companion and may have needs related to bathroom, mobility and medication.

I can assist with meal preparation, changing bedlinen, putting away cleaned washing, ironing and basic house chores not full service housekeeping, sorting out the pantry or cleaning the refrigerator, setting up and packing away seasonal decorations, help with basic house chores such as basic vacuuming or floor cleanup, driving to appointments or the library or on outings around the area. I could also take overnights, weekends and travel with for vacations and day trips.
