I was my grandmothers pet before she passed away in 2021. I was blessed to have her in my life for 28 years and that still wasn't long enough. She was diabetic and wheel chair bound and from high school until her passing day, I spent every waking moment with her to help tend to her and take care of her. I gave sponge baths to her, helped with dressing, grooming, going over medication, driving to appointments, I even came to the point where I was changing diapers which was a very humbling experience for me.
Both of my grandmothers passed away within one year of each other and during hospice, one of them stayed with me until her last breath.
