I have worked with children going on 12 years now in various capacities and I have been on the Sittercity app since I was still in college. I currently live and work in my hometown Dallas. I went to schools in Richardson growing up and was in dual language classes since the second grade, was in Girl Scouts for several years, I’ve played the violin since elementary school, and much more from my background that still influences me today. I babysat and nannied a lot when I was a student at Northwestern University in Evanston. I also worked with kids professionally when I was a work study student working for America Reads and also with Jumpstart, and I volunteered with the YMCA and RefugeeOne when I lived in Evanston and worked with kids through their programs. I also nannied and babysat when I was an intern at radio stations in Chicago. Beyond that I have covered education as a journalist the last 5 years. In the last year I have been transitioning to a full time commitment to education and I am currently in a long term substitute teacher role through the end of the school year teaching 4th grade students who have learning differences. I truly love what I do! I’ve also been committing to being a caregiver for a family member and I love helping people in need, of all ages. I’m proud of all aspects of my background. I’m currently working towards getting my teaching certification and my own classroom, and also want to ensure I can work when schools are closed, such as during spring break and the summer. I’m willing to share my resume, more references, do background checks (paid for by the client), etc. I want to also add that I provide tutoring services for all ages, including college prep, college essays, SAT tutoring, and teaching adult literacy. I want to create an enriching, safe, loving, fun and stable environment for all children. Children are the most vulnerable in society and deserve the time and care to make sure they have everything they need during their most critical developmental years, and they deserve to be around safe people who care to ensure they grow to be good to themselves and others.
