Devona T. Care Companion in Boerne, TX 78006

We moved both my in-laws into live with us when it became impossible for them to care for themselves any longer. I took care of meals, medication, doctors appointments, baths, taking them to the grocery store, clothing shopping, whatever needs that might arise. My mother in-law quickly lost her mobility and was mostly bedridden shortly after moving in. I had to use mobility equipment to get her in and out of bed each and everyday. My father in-law was then diagnosed with being legally blind a few months after they moved in. Although, he could make out shadows and could walk around the home we had to help guard his safety at all times. All their basic living needs they had, they 100% relied on me to take care of for them. I worked with Medicare, Home Health Care, Estate Lawyers and eventually the last year Hospice. My in-laws both were bed ridden the last year of their life and I took 24 hr care of both of them. They lived with us never going into any other care facility to live. Billy and Mainell wanted to be with family, I made this possible, I also realized how much I enjoyed having them there to take care of. They brought me so much joy, laughter and love during those years, now I hope to help someone else receive that same level of care and love.

I also worked for Alcoa Inc, for 22yrs, before retiring to take care of my in-laws. I was an Electrician, and had to get CPR certified every year. Although, I haven’t done this certification since retiring I have taken the classes multiple times over my employment with them.
