Hey my name is Tianna Allen, I am 24 years old and new here in Austin looking for part time work. I had my first Job in 2018 as a psychiatric aide in mental health hospital, In my role there as a mental health psychiatric aide, I had the privilege of providing compassionate care and support to individuals struggling with mental health challenges. My primary responsibility was to create a safe and nurturing environment for patients, ensuring their well-being and comfort. I worked closely with a dedicated team of professionals to assist with daily activities, such as bathing, feeding, and medication administration. Additionally, I actively engaged with patients by providing emotional support, actively listening to their concerns, and encouraging their participation in therapeutic activities. Through this experience, I developed strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of mental health issues. I firmly believe in the power of human connection and the positive impact it can have on people's lives. In 2020 a little after the pandemic hit I joined the military for about 2 years being stationed in San Diego, CA. In May of 2022 I took on a role as a Police Officer 1A at a mental health facility during my time there as a police officer my primary focus was to provide a safe and secure environment for patients and staff members alike. Maintaining client dignity and giving positive interactions ensuring that all individuals a positive experience. Deciding to relocate to Austin, Texas for a new start and beginning from Alexandria, La, I took on the role as an RBT which I am currently working to obtain my certification. In my role here, I prioritize creating a positive and supportive environment that fosters learning and growth. I use evidence-based techniques, such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), to teach functional skills, improve communication, increase social interactions, and promote independence. This includes using positive reinforcement, prompting strategies, and other behavior management techniques to help individuals achieve their goals. I enjoy working with children providing a fun and safe environment for them to uniquely be themselves.
