I am a 25 year old woman who has engaged in childcare since my time out of active service in the US Navy. My former employment care facilities are Montgomery Childcare Association located in Silver Spring, MD and NIH Rockville Day Care Northwest Childcare Center (NWCCC) located in North Bethesda, MD. At Montgomery Childcare, I participated as a Floater Aide permitting me to work with children ages 2 to 5. At NWCCC, I was a Teachers Aide in a 2 year old classroom. Both positions involved actively caring for children’s health, artistic, and educational needs as they progress within the facilities. Being a Floaters Aide permitted me the exposure and experience of the different age groups of children and their specific developmental needs as individuals and collectively in different age groups and settings. My favorite part of working with children is ensuring their basic health needs are met upon arriving to the center, so that they are physically ready to endure the academic day. I also greatly enjoy developing and executing daily lesson plans based on age and academic needs.
