I have no prior experience beyond caring for family and children. No certifications.
I am loving and gentle. My absolute favorite thing about life is 1 on 1 interaction which develops authentically into rare comfort and trust.
I am mother to three grown kids and experienced in all that entails (bathing, brushing, laundry, cooking, cleaning, finding, errands, entertaining, and comforting). I am not squeamish or judgemental. I am told that I have a sweet disposition and a lot of patience. I'm easy to please but never a pushover if it involves my core values.
I am petite but strong, but not strong enough to lift a person without help from them. I am great at brushing hair but you'll be lucky if I can get barrettes in straight, style is not my strength. I can talk about anything and I am a good listener. Once the shyness goes away, I love to be silly and make people laugh. I enjoy reading and feel that quietly sitting in the same room is quality time spent.
I want to be a part time care giver or backup. I recently was terminated from my job of 24 years for refusing to comply with their vaccination policy. I am taking a break to recover and trying to discover what I should do. Meanwhile, I need some structure and connection and I need purpose. I've always felt purpose when taking care of another. Trying this will shake up my newly boring and schedule, put more joy in my life, and certainly teach me new things about my strengths and weaknesses.
