I am a recent college grad, with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Psychology. I am currently in the process of going back to school for a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. I have worked as a Patient Care Assistant in a clinical setting on a Heart Failure unit for over 2 years. I am CPR and First Aid certified. In my two years as a PCA, I have worked with patients of all ages, and all diagnoses. I am extremely skilled with dementia patients, as I have learned the importance of patience and reasoning when working with those diagnoses. I enjoy working with geriatric patients, as they usually just want to be understood and enjoy companionship. I am more than willing to help cook, clean, bathe, or just socialize with each individual. I also strive to encourage geriatric patients to better themselves in one way or another.
