Candice Marie’s Bio
Hello! My name is Candice and I have a nursing background working as a nurses aide and RN. I've up until very recent was working as a caregiver taking care of my grandmother. I also have experience with working as a nanny and am also looking for pet care jobs as well! I love helping others and taking care of people and it definitely helps me feel like I have a purpose and brings me joy knowing that I can provide comfort to both the people that I care for and their loved ones. I myself have had loved ones who unfortunately needed to be in long term care facilities and also being cared for at home that weren't being treated properly and were neglected and I know this is the case for a lot of people and that definitely made me want to be the best nurse and caregiver that is in my power to my own patients. I have a lot of experience working with the elderly and I have always had a special place in my heart for them. I have as long as I can remember just always enjoyed being in their company and hearing about their lives and definitely have always felt like they have so much to teach and wisdom to provide younger generations. My favorite person in my life was my dad's mother who was the kindest and such a special woman and I miss her dearly. I also have a lot of experience working with patients who have dementia and Alzheimer's disease. I worked in a skilled nursing unit in a nursing/retirement facility for many years and I know it takes a special type of individual to be able to work in this type of setting. I have unfortunately in my career come across nurses and caregivers who did not treat their patients the way they deserved and witnessed both physical and emotional abuse and I as a nurse made sure those individuals were reported and I just absolutely have no tolerance for this. I consider myself to be a very caring and compassionate person and I've always felt being a nurse and caregiver just came natural to me and is definitely one of my purposes in this life. I've also worked in a long term care ventilator facility with patients ranging from 13 to 90. I myself have had to be cared for many years ago and I know not being able to care for yourself and just do everyday simple things and having to depend on others to help you can be difficult and that's why I absolutely believe in just simply being kind, respectful and understanding is very important and treating others the way you would want to be treated is how we should all live.
