The most rewarding part about caring for children is fostering relationships with them and their families. I cherish the moments when I can help families support a child's growth and become an integral part of their development. These moments remind me continually that caretaking jobs like babysitting is so much deeper than simply watching a child. I've held a CPR certification for the past 4 years and I recently underwent a second first aid training to update my skills. I think both certifications have prepared me to handle any situation. I have many certifications in health because I was a day care worker and I've been a home health aide for 5 years! I like to tailor the activities I do with a child to their particular interests. With this in mind, though, I've done many activities in the past to keep children engaged both physically and mentally while their parents are away. We can do crafts, puzzles, play board games, go to the park, ride our bikes and more.
