Alissa’s Bio
H! A little bit about me, I am a wife of 25 years to my husband and a Mom of two young adult daughters. I have worked for over 20 plus years as a school counselor (I was at my most recent school for 15 years which was early childhood through 8th grade.) I have also worked in the field of social work/social welfare, behavior specialist, mobile therapist, and family crisis counseling. I have an bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in Sociology/Social Welfare, a master's degree from Eastern University in School Counseling, and I am a certified parenting coach from the Jai Institute for Parenting. I am also a part-time parent coach with a private therapy practice.
I have cared for many children over the years as a babysitter from a preteen to nannying in college. Additionally, I have worked with countless kids of all ages through my work in schools and within the community. Last but not least, I am a Mom to my two daughters. One just graduated from college and the other is a Sophomore in college.
Last summer I updated all of my clearances, took an online infant and child CPR course and was certified. I have the Covid vaccinations, and all other vaccines, including the most recent flu shot. I have lots of other qualifications that go beyond nannying and I would be happy to share those if you are interested. I can also provide professional and personal references if requested.
I absolutely adore people of all ages. I have dedicated my adult life to coming alongside and supporting families and kids. I am kind, loving, flexible, attentive, relationally focused, cautious (but not overly), flexible, punctual, and dependable. I love to cook and am happy to do basic chores related to helping your life as a busy caretaker be a little bit easier and less stressful.
My approach with people of all ages is one of connection and gentleness. I love to chat and learn about other people, read, play games, go for walks, cook, go on adventures, etc.
I hope to meet your family soon to see if we might be a good fit!
