Hello,
I am looking for anyone needing holiday help to care for a loved one while family is around, going out of town for vacations, work issues, etc. I am certified in CPR and was last a caregiver for an 82 year old woman. We did activities such as scrap booking, reading stories, going through old pictures and sharing memories, watching movies, helping her shower if need be, and making her dinner. Though that was a few years ago, and I have been caring for far more children then adults since then, I have always enjoyed working with the elderly and, my love of classic movies, music, and books which are from the time period of the 60-90 year old range, allows me to be able to relate to them in a way I do not see people of my age being able to do very easily. I have some experience working with the elderly aside from the lady I used to care for, as I worked in a nursing home kitchen for one year and was the lunch room server and had the ability to get to know many of the residents, to take control of a situation where someone would be having an emotional/and or mental situation happening and a nurse or aid was not there and it needed to be helped in a calm, patient, and understanding way until more help could arrive if that was called for. I would love the chance again to be able to spend time with someone that needs help when others cannot be there.
