Hello my name is Kate, I have been caregiving most of my life in one capacity or another. I have 15 years experience in child care, 3 and half years of that was in a daycare setting. I have been taking care of older disabled people for about 3 years. I started by helping my grandma out, she needed someone to help her with shopping, light cleaning and meal prep a few nights a week; as well as keeping her company. After my grandma moved into her retirement home I also spent a year living in assessed living and know how lonely and isolating it can feel . Which brings me to the last of my caregiving experience, I have been taking care of my boyfriends mom for a little over a year. I help her with daily tasks like, grooming, meal prep, cleaning, any calls or appointments that need made, shopping, bills, and I provide companionship by crocheting, watching movies, reading and talking about whatever she is in the mood to talk about.
