I have always loved working with kids. I have volunteered at pre schools and currently working at a school as a school social work intern in Brooklyn working with kids ages 4-10. I enjoy working with children and watching them grow intellectually and socially.I have a genuine passion for children; something about their youthful energy and unique imaginations strikes a playful note inside me. I grew up a responsible big sister to two younger siblings making me a natural caretaker and excellent role model. I have interned at the Jewish Child Care Association as a social worker. I worked with teens and young adults on the Autism Spectrum(or with other learning differences) make a successful transition from high school or college to the workplace and independent adulthood. I facilitated social skill training groups, individual counseling, and on and off site job support. I have also worked at the Police Athletic League where I facilitated age appropriate, thematic based lesson plans and activities that align to NYC educational standards. I collaborated with other group leaders in facilitating recreational/cultural activities in a safe, structured after school environment.
