Work directly with RN with patient care in ER, ICU and CCU.
Provides personal hygiene care in a variety of situations to meet patient’s non-routine needs for personal hygiene, physical comfort, nutrition, elimination, rehabilitation aspects of care, etc.
Provides rehabilitation aspects of care, prevention of skin breakdown
May perform complex treatments relevant to area of assignment
Assists with routine diagnostic measures such as, preparation for radiological or operative procedures
Set up patient care equipment, such as oxygen or suction equipment
Recognizes emergent situations, participates in patient centered conferences
Performs other duties as assigned such as 12 lead EKG’s, arrhythmia detection & Glucometer usage.
Collected specimens such as; urine, feces, or sputum.
Measuring and recording patients’ vital signs, recording food and liquid intake and output and reported changes to professional staff.
