Hi my name is Lora Irizarry, and I am interested in working as a home attendant for your loved one.
I would like to share a bit of information about myself.
I am a lifelong Astoria resident, where I have worked within both the Italian-American and Greek-American communities providing elderly care for 25 years. I possess my certification as a Personal Care Aide-PCA, and am able to assist elderly with a range of daily activities and medical care. I have worked with patients with Parkinson's, Dementia and Alzheimer's. I can assist in administration of medication, daily hygiene for patients, meal preparation and house care needs such as cleaning and tidying up. I have experience providing insulin for diabetes patients, I can take blood pressure and weight. For more advanced patients, I can assist in feeding tube and helping patients take medicine with food. I have provided CPR for my patients during medical emergencies. I can assist with taking patients to the pharmacy, walking around the neighborhood, and grocery shopping. I have references available upon request from local resources in the community including neighborhood doctors and peers, churches, and community centers.
