I have had many volunteering experiences caring for seniors. My first year of college I was part of a collaborative program between Rosemont College and the New Sharon Retirement Community in Rosemont, PA. During my hours there I spent time with my Sister (it was a retirement community for Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus), taking her on walks, listening to her stories, and bringing her to daily activities. I also helped conduct the events in the activities area so I spent time with many other members of the community. I have also volunteered at PALM, the Center for Positive Aging in Ardmore, PA. There I would help the members during lunchtime and play games with them during free time. I love working with and caring for seniors because I find each of them so unique and inspiring. I believe that healthcare for seniors could definitely be better and I would love to help make a positive change.
