My name is Jonathan, I am 32 years old and have been working with children. teens and adults with special needs for over 10 years. I currently work as a residential manager of a group home and provide oversight into daily operations of the group home and all staff. As a part-time "gig" I also provide support privately for individuals in the community with varying degrees of support needs. I provide self care--personal hygiene care as well as assistance with activities of daily living and chores around the house. I also assist with community outings. I take the time to get to know each person that I get to work with and treat them as an individual. Many times when working in this field I have worked with colleagues who just see the "disability" and forget to think of the individual. I truly think of each person as just "differently-abled" I know the work that I do is helping them to achieve life goals and I take pride in knowing that.
