I am a recent college graduate looking for work in my hometown for a few weeks before I move to Nebraska to start my masters degree. I love helping others and used to volunteer at a hospital to help patients and staff out. I also used to help my grandmother with the care of my great grandpa and my great grandma before they passed. I was the part time caregiver of my great grandma during covid. I would often watch her (she suffered from dementia and a stroke) while my grandma went out to doctors appointments/grocery runs/ trips to the pharmacy, or even nights out so she could go get dinner with my grandpa and relax. I loved helping out my great grandma and even though she didn’t know who I was, I was always able to get her talking and interacting with me by asking her questions (never referencing any person in the family as she would get agitated without knowing who they were) and joking around with her about the things she would remember such as her hating cheesecake, and wine and loving root beer schnapps when she was younger. I’d love to help families out the way my family was helped. Due to her declining health I also have experience with wheelchairs, food issues (such as not being able to consume solids), bathroom trips, and medical equipments like lifts.
