Hello. I am not formally trained as a care companion; however, I am planning on adding to my skill set soon in this area because I care about elders and those who need care in the home. I am very patient, kind, responsible and handy to have around. Throughout the year, I work as a school counselor, and that involves caring for everyone in my school setting. At home, I have cared for sick and loved ones informally, and I understand why patience, kindness, responsiveness and knowledge of life-saving skills is necessary. I have been certified in first-aid over the years, but I am not current on those certifications. I am also a former law-enforcement professional who had to be CPR certified every year, so many of those skills are still with me. Many of my family members have transitioned to Glory, and I had to care for them in their time of need; As a result, I understand the emotions and energy needed to help in times of illness and/or convalescence.
