Most people grow up being a mommy or daddies girl… I was a true blue Grandaddy’s girl. He’s still my best friend to this day. Growing up my grandmother had Alzheimer’s, so when I got older I’d care for her to give my grandad breaks. I know how much assistance they can need, but I also understand how hard it is on the family. Hers was severe to the point that she could basically only eat and dance.
My first time helping the elderly was my nieghbor when I was in elementary school. She was a sweet lady who lost her husband and lived alone, so I would walk her dog for her then we’d build puzzles and drink cokes. I’ve always gravitated towards the elderly and they love me right back. I’d love to add so more grandmas and granddaddies to the family!
