Dynamic, multi-disciplinary educator and presenter with seven years of traditional secondary language arts classroom experience plus over 20 years of additional professional and volunteer teaching experience from elementary through senior citizen age groups.
I am a single mom who successfully launched three children from kindergarten to college. My greatest life's work has been guiding, encouraging, and supporting them and their multiple schools/groups/programs/teams as they continue to navigate complicated roles as students, athletes, musicians, volunteers, employees, and more.
I have also been a professional fitness instructor and personal trainer for over 20 years. CPR/First aid certified as well as certified MN teacher and current MN PCA certificate. I am currently a substitute teacher for Eden Prairie schools (background checks validated prior to school employment) and also a part-time customer service agent for Delta Airlines so I have an airport-issued security badge that includes a comprehensive yearly background check- much more detailed than a regular criminal background check!
My personal activities include co-leading Forest Femmes (a Swedish-based program that encourages women to be empowered outside as they safely explore trail running and hiking); member of Lakeside Velo cycling club; home improvement project DIY such as landscaping, remodel design, stone/tile design and installation, trim work, painting, and light plumbing and electrical repair.
