Since my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease when I was 14, I’ve been helping to take care of him over the years as he has progressed. Ive taken on more responsibilities as I’ve gotten older and have learned more about elderly care and specifically Alzheimer’s disease. When I’m with my grandfather, my responsibilities include making him meals and making sure he eats them, providing assistance if needed in the shower, taking him to appointments, helping him get dressed, making sure he takes his medications and just helping him with daily activities while still making sure he has a fun day.
