I initially left the workforce in 1999 when I gave birth to my first child. Shortly after, I became the full time primary caregiver to my elderly mother. Throughout the following twenty years, I continued to manage the care of my mother while parenting two small children. The scope of her care involved every aspect of daily living, including managing and administering medications, attending doctor's appointments, and maintaining her household and finances. I cared for my mother through two broken hips, Shingles, Diabetes, multiple surgeries, and a major stroke which left her with expressive/receptive aphasia, and cognitive impairment. I have no formal certifications, but many years of experience. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, however have not worked outside of the home since 1999. In March of 2019, I lost my mother at the age of 96. I decided to take a year off. As I was about to re-enter the workforce COVID 19 hit, and the job I was going to start was cancelled.
