I am 69 years old. I raised three children. All three adult children are professionals in their prospective fields. I also raised my 14-year-old grandson since he was an infant. I took care of my 79-year-old mother for a year before she passed away. I was her Advocate, Daughter and Friend. When her primary care doctor treated her weight loss due to Dementia, I didn't accept this. I took her for an evaluation to see a neurologist. Her dementia was due to medication changes and weight loss was due to onset of Leukemia. I was in tune with her when no one else was. I knew when something was not right. I monitored her medications closely and made sure she had nutritious small healthy meals. I have been a Caretaker all my life starting with younger siblings, my three children, my mother and my 14-year-old grandson who recently moved with my son into their new home. I am compassionate, caring, loyal, honest and very dependable. I have been taking care of seniors professionally since June of 2015 but have taken care of several seniors in my family over the course of many years. I am very careful in regard to medication management. I have pureed foods, thickened liquids, taken blood pressure readings, sugar levels, changed portable oxygen tanks to name a few things I was very responsible at. Some of my seniors were totally blind, legally blind, diabetics, fall risks, and bed/wheelchair bound. I provided compassion, companionship and a very positive attitude to those with depression/despair. I worked in an office most of my life. Since I took an early retirement at age 62, I find my senior care the most rewarding job I have ever had. I have always been an honest and caring person. My integrity is very important to me and I treat others with the utmost respect, patience and excellent care we all deserve.
