Patty M. Care Companion in Haverhill, MA 01832

Hi. I have been a care companion for my elderly neighbor in the past (keeping him company in the afternoon), running his errands, making simple meals or snacks, light housekeeping, organizing mail/bills/appointments, helping him to get outside to sit on the deck, and overall care & social time.
I currently am a companion to a woman on a few Friday afternoons a month. I keep her company & we have lovely conversations & play board games or I help her with her mobility & we go for short walks. She loves to reminisce about her young adult years and I listen & look at photos with her. We have gone on outings to the store or post office—but mainly go for a drive & enjoy a coffee or snack and sometimes sit by the lake.
When my father was recovering from his many surgeries & a minor stroke, I was his caretaker. I took him to all of his doctors’ appointments and helped with his rehab, therapist appts, errands, etc. I made sure that he had a routine that he enjoyed and helped him to live a quality life—filled with some of his favorite activities & lots of socialization & laughter.
