Hi, My name is Lisa and I am a 42 year old mom of 2 teenage boys, ages 19 and 17. I have many years of experience caring for children, elderly and animals. I am the oldest of 5, so that gave me a lot of experience in babysitting. I have been raising my boys as a single mom for 9 years now. Sadly, now that they are older and being the teen boys that they are, They don’t need me like they used to. I also have 2 nieces and 5 nephews ages 2 to age 15 who think I’m the cool aunt 😎: I am an artist and absolutely love to do arts and crafts with the kids. I read stories to them, play sports, board games, learning games, dress up, and pretty much anything they want.
I also have some experience working with the elderly. I used to take care of my grandmother who had dementia when my mother needed the help. I would cook for her, take her to appointments or wherever she needed to go, and just be there for her and make sure she lived the rest of her life happy. I then got the opportunity to be a caregiver/homemaker to an elderly gentleman for a few months who then became bed ridden. I would do his shopping, made his meals, did some house cleaning, made sure he took his medication, and became a companion and watched movies with him. I also enjoyed his stories and I would stay later just to hear them.
I have a love for animals as well. I grew up with German Shepard and golden retrievers. I also have a 1.5 year old golden retriever that came from my parents who breed them, so I have been around many dogs. I have experience with cats also . I have 2 cats of my own who are 12 and 10 years old. I have a lot of compassion and patience and love taking care of people of any age as well as animals.
