Kelly’s Bio
I have over 20 years experience as a professional nanny. I was a daycare teacher at a local nursery. I had my own classroom with seven babies from 8 months to 14 months by myself. I also worked with the newborn babies, ages 6 weeks to 3 months. As well as upstairs with the preschool class, ages 3-4 years. I also nannied for 2 different families in Baton Rouge. Between those two families I cared for a 7 month old baby boy, two 3 year olds, and a 5, 7, and 9 year old.
As a child, I volunteered at a nursing home my job was to spend time with the residents, playing cards, reading books, listening to stories, ect.
I am extremely outgoing, friendly, and down to earth. I am very relatable, and non judgemental which makes others feel comfortable, like they can be themselves around me. I absolutely love taking care of children, so being a companion and spending time with others comes naturally to me. I have experience with people who have special needs and with the elderly that suffer from althetimers and dementia. Unfortunately my grandmother was just diagnosed with dementia. I have spent a lot of time caring for and spending time with her and others suffering from it so I definitely know what to and not to say and how to make sure they don't get scared or more confused. It is extremely upsetting to see a loved one go through that, so when you find someone who has been through it themselves and knows how to spend time around those who suffer from it, it can be very comforting to know your loved one is in good hands.
I have my own vehicle and a valid driver's license. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I am used to doing meal times, laundry and light housework, plus much more while I nanny, I am perfectly fine with continuing complete those tasks as a companion as well.
